Alvin (Seymour Cassel) simply wants some peace and quiet in his last days. His wish, however, is not granted when a young, vibrant and ironically full of life Kevin (Johnny Whitworth) becomes Alvin’s hospice roommate. Kevin’s girlfriend Sarah (Lacey Chabert) and his hospice nurse, (Alfre Woodard) are determined to make Kevin’s final days fun and meaningful, in turn forcing Alvin to reflect on his own life and failed marriage. When Alvin tries to avoid their antics, he runs into an attractive firecracker named Valerie (Adrienne Barbeau), with whom he shares his many fears and regrets, and eventually re-learns love.
